Posting Rhapsody to WordPress

Tuesday, November 30th, 2004

Rhapsody has a “blog playlist” function that works for MT but not for WordPress. I added a few lines to the bookmarklet.php page in order to make it work.
You can get the altered file here.
This is for WordPress 1.2.1, I haven’t even looked at any other version so I doubt it will work in [...]

RHAPSODY Link : 90’s Metal Playlist

Tuesday, November 30th, 2004

You can only put around 25 songs in a Rhapsody playlist if you want to share them via the blog or email functions, so I trimmed a few off of this list of 90’s metal bands. In order to help keep the list small, I only put 1 song from each band and I [...]

Tuesday, November 30th, 2004

Wells Fargo has been screwing him over since he made the mistake of refinancing his home through them, up to and including causing his insurance company to cancel his homeowner’s insurance. Now he thinks he’s going to get an apology? heh.
[UPDATE] Just received this from Mintee:

Gaston elections director takes leave

Thursday, November 25th, 2004

The 2002 Gaston County election was one of the few mentioned in the now infamous Diebold Memos. The election this year was also marred by problems but they were much more public than before. The state election board called for an investigation into the problems. The list started with 5 items (”the [...]

Rebranding Brand Democrat

Thursday, November 25th, 2004

First, Oliver Willis came up with the best thing I’ve seen on his site: Brand Democrat. Then someone decided to Rebrand Democrat.
Now, Stephen VanDyke, a Libertarian and damn fine political blogger (how rare!) gets it right with his version, one that more closely resembles the whole truth than either of the others.

Wired News: Newspapers Should Really Worry

Wednesday, November 24th, 2004

I’ve subscribed to the Charlotte Observer a few times. Every time I decide to let my subscription lapse and every time it is for the same reason: I feel guilty when I don’t read a paper one day. I know I’ve paid for it, I know a tree has died for it. [...]

Donnie Darko: The Director’s Cut (2004)

Wednesday, November 24th, 2004

Donnie Darko (2001) was one of my favorite movies the first time I saw it. The second viewing solidified that and caused me to buy the DVD. When I saw the dozens of deleted scenes, I realized how bad the movie actually was. The movie wasn’t bad compared to the competition that [...]

Upset About C-SET and the Charlotte Bobcats

Wednesday, November 24th, 2004

I was a Hornets fan. I still have a ticket stub from the first season somewhere. I was a fan when they had to paint over the starting line-up mural uptown. Even after the second time. Even when they gave up on keeping a line-up for more than a year and [...]

“Black Triangles” UFO Sitings Continue

Saturday, November 20th, 2004

In 1994, my girlfriend at the time was driving from Boone to Charlotte to visit her friend Kelly on a Friday night. She saw bright lights over the exit ramp from I-77 to Harris Blvd in Charlotte and at first thought they were football stadium lights. It was a clear night, though, clear [...]
