I was testing a desktop program that posts to several blog systems, one of which is WordPress (even though it appeared the program’s author never bothered testing with WordPress and WordPress’s author(s) didn’t bother including the needed xmlrpc file with this version of WordPress). After far too much time wasted searching for how to post remotely, finding out what URL to use, finding out that the file was missing, finding the missing file and replacing it, etc, etc, etc), the damn test posts never showed up.
Well, actually they did show up, just not where I expected them. There is a bug somewhere that caused the 8 test posts to post with a date of December 31, 1969. I am sure that was a great day but I am not old enough to know for sure. That, in addition to the fact that the program apparently uses MSHTML to format the html with tags in all caps (ack!), means I’ll just delete those posts and continue posting via the WordPress web interface.
