The truth doesn’t care what I think.
Like so many others, I spent 2 afternoons read The Celestine Prophecy a little over a decade ago. I didn’t think it could ever be made into an enjoyable movie, even going into it tonight I thought it would surely be too hokey to work. I am glad I was wrong.
Although it is apparently still too much for some people (one viewer tonight said that the movie didn’t make any sense), I had forgotten how completely the ideas in the movie are part of my reality now. The ideas were surprising, powerful, and obvious over a decade ago, they aren’t any less so now. The movie was like a refresher course, like auditing a class that I needed to be reminded of. If you kinda remember reading the book, go see the movie. It is all there, except in 2 hours instead of 2 afternoons.
